Finding Books & E-Books

CAVALOG is the library’s catalog.  CAVALOG  is used to find books, e-books, videos, DVDs and other materials.   Access points are word/phrase, author, title, subject, and series.  

 

 


 

 

Finding Articles

The primary periodical databases, Education Research Complete and ERIC are available by selecting the Education subject link from the Databases tab on the Library's homepage*.    Secondary periodical databases, PsycArticles, PsycINFO, and Academic Search Premier are also available.    

 

  • Education Research Complete:  Learn more about the database   (Use the scholarly peer reviewed limiter)
     
  • ERIC:  Learn more about the database.  View a tutorial. (Make sure to limit your results to Journal Articles)

 

 

  • PsycINFO:     Learn more about the database.  View a  tutorial (Make sure to limit your results to English language)

 

  • Academic Search Premier:   Learn more about the database. View a tutorial (Use the scholarly peer reviewed limiter)  

 

 

 

 

 

*Your Cabrini network username and password are used to access periodical databases remotely.  Please contact ITR (610-902-8366) if there are any problems connecting to the databases.  You can also get help online through ITR's Online Problem Reporting System.    

 

 


Finding Journals

 

To locate a specific journal such as, Educational Research Quarterly use the library's Journals list; an A to Z list of available journals. 

  • From the library's homepage select the Journals tab.  
  • In the find box enter the title of the journal and select search.  
  • The result list will provide information on locating the journal either in print* or electronic format. 
  • Select the hyperlink for the preferred format and follow the links to locate the journal.  How to: Finding journals by title.ppt 

 

*Please note print journals can be obtained by visiting the library during regular hours.

 

 

 


 

Using Other Libraries

 

Memberships in the SouthEastern Pennsylvania Consortium for Higher Education (SEPCHE) and the Tri-State College Library Cooperative (TCLC) enable students to use resources from 40+ libraries in the tri-state area. Students enjoy borrowing privileges at all SEPCHE institutions simply by showing their Cabrini ID or proof of registration.  Cabrini students are also free to use the libraries at neighboring Eastern University and Valley Forge Military Academy and College.  Students may borrow materials from TCLC institutions with a Letter of Introduction.  A Letter Of Introduction can be obtained by emailing: library@cabrini.edu
