Locating Print Journals via Cavalog

 

  1. Select Cavalog from the library's home page.

  2. Set the Location to PERIODICAL.  The Location limiter is in the lower right corner in the Search Limits section of the screen.

  3. In the Subject search box, enter terms like government or politics. 

  4. Select Search Catalog.

 

 Current issues of print periodicals are located on the main-level; back issues are located on the lower level of the Library.

 


 

Locating Electronic Journals via the Library's Journal List

 

  1. Select the Journals tab from the library's homepage.
  2. From the journals list select the Subjects tab.   
  3. Using the drop down menu select the subject to view:  Political Science
  4. From the Political Science list choose an appropriate subject heading. 

 

 Suggested subject headings are:

  • International law

  • Foreign relations

  • Political institutions and public administration  
  • Political science (General)

 

 

 


 

Using Magazines for Libraries

 

Magazines for Libraries is a Reference Book that contains descriptions of magazines and journals.  Entries also list the publisher,  frequency, and the database that indexes each periodical.    The book is arranged by subject.  See the subject of Political Science for periodicals relating to comparative and American politics, international relations, or general political theory.  Sample view:

Locating Reference Resources

 

  1. Select Cavalog from the library's home page.

  2. Set the Location to Reference.  The Location limiter is in the lower right corner in the Search Limits section of the screen.

  3. In the Subject search box, enter terms like government or politics.
  4. Locate the reference book using the call # provided.

 

The Reference Collection is located on the main level of the Library.

  1. Select the Databases tab from the library's homepage.
  2. Select "Government, Law & Politics" from the Subject list.

Popular and Scholarly Journals

Primary and Secondary Sources
